Guardianship Applications

An Enduring Power of Guardianship safeguards your interests if you are no longer able to make reasoned decisions for yourself.

To make an EPA or  EPG you must:

  • be 18 years of age or older, and
  • have full legal capacity (this means you must be able to make a formal agreement and understand the implications of statements contained in that agreement).

An enduring guardian can be authorised to make decisions about things such as where you live, the support services you have access to and the treatment you receive. An enduring guardian cannot be authorised to make property or financial decisions on your behalf. This is the Power of Attorney.

Redgum Justice will also assist in the preparation of Enduring Power of Attorney applications. This is the person who will make financial decisions for you in the event that you cannot make these decisions for yourself.
