Simple Wills

about us

A Will is a legal document that sets out how you wish your property to be distributed after you die.

  • Your will might say that you want all your property to go to your partner after you die, or it might say you
want your property divided among many different people. The people who receive property under your will
    are called ‘beneficiaries’.
  • A will is one of the most important documents you will ever sign. The most important reason for making a will
is to make sure that, after your death, your property is distributed in the way you would have wanted it to be.
You can make a will at any time. However, you must have capacity, or be of sound mind, to make a will.

  • ‘Capacity’ is a legal term that means you can make reasoned decisions for yourself about personal,
financial, and legal matters. Also, a will made by someone aged under 18 is not valid.

  • Redgum Justice assists people to make simple Wills (where the value of the estate is not too high – e.g. no
investment properties or trusts) and where the client has sound mind and decision making capacity.
